The Board of Intermediate and Secondary education Quetta is an independent Governmental body which has legislative authority over its affiliated educational intermediate and secondary education institutes. The Board can cancel, monitor, develop, reform, renew, generate and regulate the administrative and financial matters of affiliated institutes that come under its jurisdiction. Besides this, the foremost duty of BISE Board Quetta is to conduct examinations and prepare 11th class results for supplementary and annual examinations.
Apart from Matriculation (9th, 10th) and Intermediate (11th, 12th) examinations and results, BISE Quetta also conducts additional examinations of Diploma in Associate Engineering, Diploma in Agriculture, and Diploma in Commerce and Languages (ABID, ALIM and FAZIL Examination). It was established in year 1976 under BISE Ordinance. From then it has been performing responsibilities of Affiliating institutions imparting SSC and HSSC education, prescribing courses of instructions for SSC and HSSC, Ensuring provision of requisite facilities in the affiliated institutions, holding exams, appointing examiners and supervisory staff, Instituting measures to promote physical wellbeing of student and organizing sports activities in its affiliated institutions.
